Zero Level Error Code Descriptions

Zero-level error codes (codes 000 to 099) are returned in the TU4.0 or TU4.1 fixed format response (FFR) due to a failure of software, hardware, or telecommunication lines.

Code Description Common Reasons for Error Troubleshooting Tips
001 The transaction was abnormally terminated due to a system error. May indicate:
  • System problem on TransUnion side.
  • Problem with consumer file being accessed.
  • Problem with input data.
  • Retry transaction.
  • If the situation persists, contact us.
006 An internal software error has occurred.
  • System problem on TransUnion side.
  • Problem with accessing consumer file being requested.
  • Retry transaction.
  • If the situation persists, contact us.
015 The TransUnion Online Credit Reporting system is not available at this time. TransUnion may be experiencing a system outage.
  • Retry transaction.
  • If the situation persists, contact us.
033 Too many total or duplicate inquiries exist on file. Commonly occurs when the same subject file is requested repeatedly by the same subscriber.
  • If you are repeatedly trying to access the same consumer file, try to access the file the next day.
  • Check with your TransUnion sales representative to verify proper subscriber code configuration.
  • Check with your system provider for possible software/ system issues.
090 The service requested is not available at this time. May indicate a service outage.
  • Retry transaction.
  • If the situation persists, contact us.
