One of the first steps in getting set up for online batch processing is to determine the data input method. Many options are available. One common option is to input your data into our Suggested Input Template Excel spreadsheet, then save it per the special instructions in the corresponding PDF to send to TransUnion. Alternatively, customers can program for, and send in, fixed format inquiry (FFI) strings via the standard TransUnion inquiry input method (TU4.0/TU4.1).
IMPORTANT: If you are using a vendor they may require a unique input layout. Please contact them first before using one of the below templates.
For online batch processing, it is critical that the data be sent in a standard, consistent format for every submission. Use these tools to help create your file.
Some of these documents may require Adobe® Acrobat® Reader®. You can download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software from the Adobe website.
Insert your data into the Excel 97-2003 or Excel 2007 spreadsheet template below. Except for the headers, the columns in these blank Excel files are the exact length required for a successful online batch transmission. After you create the spreadsheet, save it as the PDF instructions describe and submit it to TransUnion.
Note: TransUnion cannot accept Excel files as input; you must follow the PDF instructions to save your file.
